The history of the wines of Olivier Leflaive (as well as his personal history!) is complex and rich in twists and turns. After studying sales, Olivier Leflaive decides to live the life of an artist with his music band. It is not before 35 years that Olivier returns to the family domain of Puligny-Montrachet to ensure the co-management.
His desire to undertake yet pushed to leave her Anne-Claude Leflaive cousin take care of the family vineyard, the Leflaive area to create in 1985 with his brother Patrick the "Maison Olivier Leflaive Freres", a breeding company and winemaking " haute couture ". In 1990, the trading house sold about 500,000 bottles of grands crus, 1er crus and villages of Burgundy. With the help of Franck Grux 's cellar, which is still present today in 2015, the brothers have been producing quality wines from around the world for 30 years.
But it is another production signed Leflaive that Vignerons d'Exception offers: the prestigious "Harvest of the Domaine".
In 2010, Olivier Leflaive and his brother Patrick inherit a valuable part of the vineyards of the legendary field Leflaive Puligny Montrachet few acres of first growths (Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, including the famous climate "Les Pucelles"), and of course Grands Crus such as Batard Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet. Olivier naturally decides to vinify apart these jewels, previously held to the line - in biodynamics - by his cousin. These are the confidential "Récoltes du Domaine".
The biggest climates and AOC of the Cote de Beaune are there: Grands Crus Batard Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet of course, but also the 1er Crus more accessible as Meursault and especially Puligny Montrachet, the historic stronghold of the estate. Moreover, the presence on climates such as "Folatieres" and especially "Pucelles" places the Harvest of the vineyard Leflaive Brothers among the best in Burgundy.
At Vignerons d'Exception, we are proud to have had the confidence of Olivier Leflaive to distribute these exceptional wines.
