Mas Champart Saint-Chinian "Clos de La Simonette" red 2009
Robert Parker's Wine advocate (David Schildknecht - mai 2011) : 90-91/100. From cask, the 2009 Saint-Chinian Clos de la Simonette - as usual, 70% Mourvedre and 30% Grenache - smells and tastes of ripe purple plum accented by bay leaf, and as such highly-representative of its dominant grape. A fine dispersion of tannins lends structure; dark chocolate richness; while piquant fruit pit and tart impingement of berry seeds convey invigoration to this wine's long finish. The steepness and southern exposure of this site, explains Champart, to some extent compensate for its high elevation and for the late-ripening proclivities of Mourvedre, but even so those grapes were not picked in this vintage until September 20. I expect this will prove worth following for at least half a dozen years.
