Domaine de l'Arlot, among the most prestigious estate of Nuits Saint Georges.

arlot-geraldine-godot-bourgogneDomaine de l'Arlot is located 2 km south of Nuits Saint Georges. It covers an area of 14 hectares. Geraldine Godot produces famous Burgundy wines such as Romanee Saint Vivant, Vosne Romanee or Nuits Saint Georges. The estate is also known for its white wines of excellence.

Through Domaine de l'Arlot, it is the history and durability of an old Burgundy property of the Cote de Nuits that is told. According to ancient records, the Burgundian Jean-Charles Vienot owned late 18th century a house and vineyards in Premeaux. He had walls built all around the estate, that's how the Clos de l'Arlot was born. In 1891, Jules Belin, a wine merchant, bought the property. He will expand the estate with the acquisition of Clos des Forets Saint-Georges and Clos du Chapeau. All this vineyard will constitute the Domaine de l'Arlot. In 1987, his heirs sold the buildings and vines to AXA Millesimes.

Christian Seely, General Manager, and Geraldine Godot, Technical Director, are at the head of this domain, whose desire is to develop great wines that express authentically the terroir of Domaine de l'Arlot.

In order to reveal the truth of the terroir and to respect nature, the vines have been cultivated in the biodynamic spirit since the beginning of the 2000s. This voluntarist approach imposes perfectly assumed choices, from the vinification to the ageing: manual harvesting of the clusters , sort grapes in the vineyard and on arrival at the vat room to keep only the best.

Particularity and rare thing in Burgundy, the estate has "Premiers Crus Monopole", Clos de l'Arlot and Clos des Forets Saint Georges. The estate also produces some of the most intense whites of the Cote de Nuits, whose small production has largely contributed to the estate's reputation. They also own Grands Crus at Romanee-Saint-Vivant.
