Adrien Roustan - Domaine d'Ouréa - Rhone Sud

Located in the southern Rhône Valley in Vacqueyras, the Ouréa winery estate was created by Adrien Roustan in 2009 and now covers 20 hectares. From the simple (and already superb) IGP at €10 to the great Gigondas for ageing at €39. This is the best Vacqueyras we have tasted in a long time, and at €20, it is simply exceptional value for money! The winemaker converted his vineyard to organic farming and obtained certification in 2012. These are refined, elegant and seductive wines, produced by a talented young enthusiast. Adrien Roustan made a spectacular debut in the RVF Green Guide to the Best Wines of France 2023, with a star rating, and is also THE (only) ‘winemaker to watch’ in the Guide for the Rhône Valley. The 2022 Vacqueyras has not yet been rated, but in our opinion it surpasses the 2021 (now sold out except in magnums), which scored 93/100 in the RVF: Its sumptuous aroma is reminiscent of bergamot. A Vacqueyras that is almost infused, with great elegance, almost weightless, masterfully revealing all the finesse of its birthplace. A masterful wine!
