Maison Remoissenet, essential reference for lovers of great Burgundy wines

remoissenet-bourgogneMaison Remoissenet produces fine Burgundy wines on Cote de Beaune, Cote de Nuits, and Cote Chalonnaise. Among the great appellations, we can cite Gevrey Chambertin, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Santenay, Pernand-Vergelesses. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are magnified on this terroir.
Maison Remoissenet was created in 1879 by Pierre-Alfred Remoissenet, a trained cooper. It is located in the heart of the village of Beaune and covers 40 hectares. The generations followed each other at the head of the estate: first Louis, the son of Pierre-Alfred, then Roland, his grandson.
By the time Roland retired in 2005, there was no successor in the family. The estate was therefore entrusted to an American buyer Edward L. Milstein, connoisseur and passionate about Burgundy wines. He keeps the spirit of the house, and surrounds himself with a team of enthusiasts, experts in Burgundy: Bernard Repolt, graduate of HEC, former sales director at Jadot, becomes CEO. Claudie Jobard, brilliant oenologist (daughter of Laurence Jobard oenologist at Drouhin) joined them. And finally Pierre-Antoine Rovani, former partner and co-taster of Robert Parker, becomes an advisor and gives his opinion on the tasting. Heavy investments are made to fulfill the great qualitative ambitions of the new owner.
In the vineyard, they practice sustainable agriculture, and follow the principles of organic farming. The harvests are manual, the yields low and there is very little intervention. The wines are vinified in casks and then aged in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months. The vat room and the aging cellar date from the 14th and 15th century.
Pure, balanced, precise wines produced by a benchmark house in Burgundy!
