Wife of the famous Burgundy winegrower Jean-Louis Trapet, Andree Trapet elaborates in Alsace high-end biodynamic wines. Powerful, intense wines of exceptional minerality and freshness, cut for the hilt.
Born in Alsace and very attached to her land, she took over the family estate of her parents in 2002. Since then, she no longer counts the round trips between Gevrey Chambertin and Riquewihr.
The Trapet wine has become a family affair, and Jean-Marie the father, Pierre and Louis the two sons, all participate in the work in Burgundy or Alsace ... but Andree is the one who signs the wines.
Trapet estate of Alsace covers 14 hectares which have the chance to spread over some of the greatest wines of the region: Schlossberg, Sporen, Schonenbourg and Sonnenglanz!
All varieties are present and respected (vinified separately): riesling, gewürztraminer, auxerrois, pinot blanc, pinot gris, and of course the pinot noir that the family knows so well, with even a little Chardonnay, not so widespread in Alsace :-)
In short, all the elements are there to harvest and vinify great Alsatian wines: biodynamic vines, manual harvesting, sophisticated vinification, little added sulfur, aging in barrels (for some wines) ...
