Domaine Séguinot Bordet, One of the Oldest Families of Chablis

seguinot-bordet-chablis-bourgogne-vigneron Jean-François Bordet produces exceptional Burgundy wines at Domaine Séguinot Bordet under the Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru designations. These are fine white Chardonnays with a strong terroir identity, offered at reasonable prices.

Established in Maligny since 1590, the Séguinot family is one of the oldest families in Chablis. Their vineyard spans 16 hectares, facing south/southeast. Jean-François Bordet has been managing the estate since 1998. As a child, he enjoyed working in the vineyard with his grandfather, who taught him to observe the vines and terroir. After obtaining a BTS in viticulture and oenology in Beaune, he completed internships abroad, including in the United States, before taking over his grandfather's vines.

The winemaker practices sustainable agriculture. The vines are planted in tight rows and come from massal selections. They are grown on Chablis's distinctive Kimmeridgian soils, which give the wines their iodized character. For the old vines planted by his grandfather, the soil is plowed by horse.
