Domaine Vico – Emmanuel Venturi – Corsica
Located in the heart of the Isle of Beauty in Ponte Leccia, Domaine Vico was established in 1901 by Monsieur Vico. Situated far from the sea, it has remained protected from the coastal tourist boom to this day.
In 1987, Jean-Marc Venturi took over the estate, modernized it, and achieved early successes beyond Corsica. After pursuing higher education on the mainland, Emmanuel Venturi decided to return to his homeland, which he missed dearly. He came back to support his father with new quality ambitions, leading to the creation of a new estate in 2005 based on unique terroirs deserving of "special treatment"—the Clos Venturi.
Domaine Vico operates with respect for nature: it earned HQE (High Environmental Quality) certification in 2016 and has long practiced organic farming (certified in 2017) and biodynamics (certification expected in 2023) to allow this exceptional terroir and climate to fully express themselves. The vineyard is situated at an altitude between 260 and 360 meters, with a complex geology comprising schist, basalt, granite, and river stones.
The estate has not used insecticides or pesticides for over 15 years. More than ten native grape varieties contribute to the richness of Domaine Vico's wines, with vines sometimes nearing 70 years of age. Vermentinu dominates the white grape plantings (95%), while Niellucciu and Sciaccarellu make up the majority of the reds (80%), complemented by other varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Minustellu, and Barbarossa.
We love the winemaker’s "statement of faith," which is deeply respectful of family, nature, Corsica, and the planet: "My father has stepped back from the day-to-day; he offers advice, critiques, or praise with constant benevolence. I am now the guardian of the identity of our estates [Vico and Clos Venturi, ed.], which are geographically close but fundamentally very different. My philosophy is the same everywhere: High Environmental Value, organic farming, biodynamics, permaculture, animal husbandry, beekeeping..."
I have made these choices to preserve my island, my terroir, the people who live there, and more broadly, the planet. I am convinced that our activity must become positive for our environment, so that the harmony present here will enable us to produce wines full of life and balance.
I am not a utopian or a dogmatic esotericist; I am simply a farmer who loves life. Every day I work at this alchemy, observing, understanding, and supporting it to honor it.
This makes me and my wines, if not better, at least coherent with who we are and what our land expresses."

Why buy Corsican wines from Domaine Vico in Sartène?
Because we love them and believe these wines have a perfect place in your cellar! As some clients have told us, "we’re not objective, since we tasted and chose them to sell: we’re biased." That’s why we prefer to "defend" our selection with feedback from major wine guides, who are more objective than we are:
Guide RVF des meilleurs vins de France 2025: 1★/4: "Masterfully managed by Manu Venturi. With a century-old terroir (first plantings in 1900) and nearly 50 hectares of vines at altitude in Ponte Leccia, Domaine Vico is certified organic and biodynamic, with a complex geology of schist and basalt. The investments made and demanding vineyard work over the past decade are paying off, raising this estate to a high level of quality that continues to improve. This year’s one-star rating is a logical recognition of this progress."
