    Merchant's answer

Dear Sir, first of all, thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Your disappointment touches me deeply because I have the impression that we have not tasted the same wine! I've been selecting La Taupe since its 2012 vintage, and the 2016 was for me magnificent and the most accomplished of these 5 vintages. It impressed me again recently, as did the 120 amateur customers present at our Paris tasting in March 2018, who voted for it with their numerous purchases (in terms of sales, La Taupe 2016 came second out of 14 wines offered for tasting!). So I'm thinking that perhaps your bottle was deficient (which can happen due to a pinched cork, etc., fortunately very rarely), as this wine is not at all marked by wood, and very typical of Pinot right from the first nose! Of course, it may need a little aeration before tasting (ideally, decanting a little beforehand), and like all reds, optimal tasting temperature (16-17°C max). Be that as it may, it's also, perhaps, simply a question of taste... and there's no arguing with that! That's why I suggest, to be sure of avoiding any further disappointments with this wine, that you send us the remaining 5 bottles from your box (well-packed, to the Tassin office), and we'll refund them as soon as we receive them. Our apologies for the inconvenience, Tristan Depauw
