Wells, mai 2024), 93+/100. Planted on the eastern hillside of the Côte du Py, the 2022 Morgon Côte du Py stands out for its razor-like precision contrasting harmoniously with velvety textures and supple flavors. The wine wafts from the glass with aromas of blueberry coulis, licorice, dried thyme, slate and vine smoke. The bright acids keep the wine's plushy, dark-natured flavors in check, while the firm but refined tannins provide a sturdy backbone. It opens up gracefully on the mid-palate, revealing small pangs of salinity that, in combination with the tannins, draw out the wine and make for a precise, elemental finish. This is a wine to sit with for a while, beautifully done. DRINK DATE 2026-2042.
