Le Clos des Fees Cotes du Roussillon Villages "Vieilles Vignes" red 2010
91/100 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - David Schildknecht (jan. 2014) : The Clos des Fees 2010 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes as usual, from Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and the obscure, indigenous Grenache variant Lledoner (or 'Lladoner') Pelut was (in contrast with previous vintages) vinified almost entirely in cement tank, its Syrah alone having spent time in barrel. Lovely scents of strawberry and black raspberry presage luscious, generously juicy as well as silken, plush palate. Hints of floral perfume like this wine's fruity basic personality and textural allure are already familiar from a typical Les Sorcieres bottling of this estate, but here there is greater complexity thanks to notes of burley tobacco, licorice, vanilla and brown spices and a saliva-inducing salinity in its long finish. You have to taste carefully to even notice the tannins, so fine-grained are they; but they should help see this lovely bottling through at least 2018.
